Information received from DCC regarding the draft Minerals Local Plan below, this includes information about the an additional site which is in Sudbury.
Derbyshire County Council and Derby City Council are now consulting on the next stage in the preparation of the Minerals Local Plan.
DCC are grateful for the comments that people provided during previous consultations, and these have been taken into account, along with all other relevant information, in developing this Proposed Draft version of the Plan – the next stage in the development of this Plan. The Plan sets out strategic priorities for mineral development through its Vision and Objectives and strategic policies to deliver sustainable minerals development and to ensure the supply of important minerals, including the identification of sites for mineral working. It also contains a set of draft policies which will be used to assess and determine new proposals for mineral development. More »
Since the previous consultation was undertaken on sand and gravel issues in 2020, an additional site has been put forward by a mineral operator for sand and gravel extraction near Sudbury, which we are proposing to include in the Plan as an allocated site for working.
They are now writing to us because we have provided comments on the Plan during the course of its preparation or have asked to be kept updated on its progress. We are inviting comments on this document for a period of eight weeks. They would welcome any further comments everyone may have on the Plan at this stage. All comments should be received by 29 April 2022.
The easiest and quickest way to read the papers and then submit your responses is to use our electronic consultation system, which is at the following web address; https://derbyshire.gov.uk/mineralslocalplan
